Helping Javi

Today has been a day full of surprises. First,Chenoa surprises me at the movie activity in CISO( when she hinted that she wasn't coming). And then I run into Javi at the Lazaro's computer section( well, technically, he found me!). I was browsing for some wallpapers to put on my myspace.com page and then i hear a whisper behind me saying," you really do like those images, huh.." Before i know it, i end up helping Javi search all around the UPR campus 4 a computer w/ Word and a printer. After abt an hr., we find that the computers in the University Center are open and then we go to the "Centro de Computos" , where i'm now writing this article. hehe. Ugghh, but i keep getting these odd stomach pains.... like my heart just dropped and chattered( don't mind me, i can be rather dramatic and tend to exaggerate). I guess i tagged along all this time because I meant to see this thing through to the end...with him. I think i'd be passing up a good oppurtunity to not only help him out with something that's important to him, but spend some time with him too!!! I just want him to know that i want to help him in anyway possible. I just wanna be a good friend. But i'd be fooling myself if i said that that's the only thing i want with him. Time will tell...

Soooooo much work!!!( Well.....not really!)

Things are going smoothly lately. The days turn into weeks, the weeks turn into months... I mean it feels like only yesterday that it was the beginning of the semester. But now that the end of the semester is almost at hand, the professors start to shower us with a mountain of work!( essays, tests, readings, projects, papers, the works!)Although it seems like a lot, it really doesn't feel that way. After all, its to be expected! With so many good and strange things happening around me, homework is the least of my worries. I'm more concerned about last night. Did I really sleepwalk from the living room to my room after watching my late night anime cartoons??? And what about that last astral projection I had? It didn't even feel like one. It felt like a vision of some sort... I don't know what the future brings, but i do know that its gonna be a very interesting ride.

Dunkin' Donuts!!!!

Of all the pastries deemed worthy of being called a doughnut, the best would have to be.....DUNKIN' DONUTS!!!!! When i was a child, i uesd to eat a dozen doughnuts all by myself! But, although their "yummyness" is legendary in my book, they came with a price..... high cholesterol!!! :( Nowadays, i can only eat 3 doughnuts a month at the most( i tried to eat 6 recently but they gave me a bad stomach ache...). But as long as i can still savor that delicious taste, i couldn't care less!!!! haHA! It's all about knowing one's limitations; that way i can enjoy my doughnuts without having to worry about my cholesterol!!! Since i ate 6 doughnuts this month( Nov.), i promised myself that i would not eat another one of those doughnuts till next year.( i just hope i can hold out that long!)Well, i can always eat the cheap ones they sell at the UPR!! hehe!

My Academic Plans!!!

I never really gave it that much thought in the past, but now it's something I must think about repeatedly. At the present time, I'm studying at the University of Puerto Rico. While my previous year was a little tough, my 2nd year has been quite pleasant. I've been able to make some good friends. And most of my professors already know me from previous courses!I no longer feel alone. Instead, I feel like I belong here. Recently, my mother has been badgering me to go to Georgetown University in D.C. That was the original plan after all. But I honestly couldn't bear the thought of being away from my new found friends and family.

I know that eventually I will go to the U.S., but I still need more time. I would at least like to earn my bachellor's degree in psychology here and then head to Georgetown. The time will come when I'll leave for the U.S., but right now, I take comfort in the fact that I'll be staying in the UPR for a couple of years. And, when the time is right, I'll be ready!

Hi! My name is Diego Gil. I'm a 20 year-old guy studying in the University of Puerto Rico. So far, its been a good year and I'm hoping that it will last until I get my doctoral degree in Psychology! I'm usually very calm, honest and unaware, but very sweet and kind.
